Shields

Hello Myth of Empire Team,

i got witness in a stream that the shields in game are nearly useless couse the enemys are damaging you even they are in front of you.
Is this intended?
Should the enemy be able to hit around the Shield?

Blocking seems to work, the shield bash does nothing, i will grab aggro and just hold block while my warrior attacks, let my warrior do most the fighting.
