keep getting told my connect timed out

i got the game yesterday and cant even open the game due to a connection timing out anyone got any tips to fix this or am i just out of luck

Please use a VPN to log in the game.

Unfortunately, it seems we're out of luck. Bottom line, a VPN should never...EVER be necessary for a global release. Perhaps this is just signs that their legal issues are not going so well. If that's the case, the game should not be sold where it can't be played without relying on shady software by even shadier developers.

Is there not a better solution for connecting to the game? I'm trying to play on a custom server from a gaming group I'm a member of, but all I can see is Far East servers.
