I am trying to establish a dedicated server for my friends and me to enjoy, but I've got an issue that I can't figure out.
Back when the game was on Steam when I bought it. Currently, there are three of us that play the server, two of us have it from steam and one of us has it from the launcher.
When I use the P2P setting in the server tool (Steam Bought) I put in my external IP in the out-address in the command line. I can see my server and so can my friend that has it on Steam as well. My other friend that has the launcher version of the game can't see the server.
Next, when I disable the P2P setting in the server tool this is also with my external IP in the out-address in the command line. I can see my own server, but the ping is 1000ms and I always get the connection timed out error. My other two friends can see the server with no issue.
If I leave the out-address as what the server tool provides, with P2P turned off, I can see the server and both of my friends can see the server, but I'm the only one able to join as the server shows 1000ms for them.
The network setup I have is a Spectrum Modem coming into a Nighthawk Router which then goes to a gaming desktop, a server desktop, and my gaming laptop. For what I am trying to do. The server desktop is hosting the server with its own dedicated IP. Next, I have my router port forwarding the two ports needed by Myth of Empires. I use my gaming desktop and/or laptop I use to play the game.
Any thoughts? I'm getting so frustrated I don't know what else to do.
