If you’re struggling with the PSR in Battlefield 6, you’re not alone. The rifle has a reputation for being unforgiving, slow, and awkward on most maps. But after spending a lot of time mastering it, I’ve discovered several strategies that make using the PSR far easier. This post is aimed at anyone who wants to give the rifle another chance without suffering through dozens of frustrating matches.
1. Choose maps with long mid-range angles
You don’t need 500-meter sightlines — all you need is consistent access to the 100–150 meter sweet spot. Elevated streets, ridges between objectives, and tower-to-rooftop angles are all excellent. If the map has at least two corridors in that range, the PSR becomes significantly stronger.
2. Practice tracking rather than flicking
The PSR’s slower projectile speed makes flick shots unreliable. Instead, track your target smoothly and fire when their movement becomes predictable. The rifle rewards patience far more than speed.
3. Use the 10x optic to its full potential
This scope is designed for clarity. Don’t rush your shots; use the zoom to fully analyse your target’s path. You’ll find that the higher magnification compensates for the low muzzle velocity by giving you enough visual data to lead shots accurately.
4. Avoid extreme distances
Ironically, the PSR performs worse at distances where you’d expect it to excel. Anything beyond 200 meters becomes unnecessarily hard. The sweet spot exists for a reason — staying inside it guarantees consistent damage and reliable one-shot potential.
5. Relocate after every few shots
Because the PSR can’t snap-shoot like other rifles, staying in one position too long is dangerous. Move between rooftops, ridges, or broken walls to reset enemy expectations and avoid being counter-sniped.
Mastering the PSR isn’t about becoming the best sniper — it’s about adopting a slower, methodical mindset that prioritises positioning and patience. Once you embrace this, the rifle becomes far more enjoyable. Buy BF6 bot lobbies from U4GM for easy 200+ kills, quick camo unlocks, and massive XP — all 100% safe and manual.
